At Garcias Woodworks, which is a New and Recycled Pallet Supplier repurposing is a primary focus, and a large percentage of our recycling is done through our distinctive new custom pallets repair program. Our pallet repair program is extensive, standardized, and cross-departmental.
Here is a detailed breakdown of all the steps involved in pallet restoration, as well as some critical specifics concerning our own procedure.
What Is Pallet Restoration and How Does It Work?
Pallet restoration is the process of returning a pallet to useable condition after it has been damaged by broken stringers and deck boards. While the restored pallet may not be as attractive as a new pallet, it is still safe to use and performs better.
Pallets that have been repaired are also an environmentally responsible option since they extend the life of the pallet and keep timber out of landfills.
The Commencement of the Pallet Replacement Process
The procedure starts with the arrival of inbound pallets at our sort yard.
One of our skilled pallet sorters will inspect the pallets here in order to develop new custom pallets from them.
Our sort yards are crowded with thousands of pallets being diverted to their right destinations at any given time during the day.
The Stage of Restoration
Pallets that are repairable are transferred to one of our many repair stations once they have been identified.
One of our pallet repair professionals will evaluate the pallet once more at the repair station to determine the degree of the damage and the repairs that are required. Our professionals are also carrying out our defined plan for repairing the pallet in the most efficient manner feasible during this process.
Pallet Maintenance That Is Most Frequent
Installation of a stringer plug (also known as a “companion stringer”), staples, and broken deck-board replacement are some of the most frequent repairs a Garcia’s Woodworks repair professional would undertake.
Stringer plugs and broken deck boards are two examples of common pallet repairs.
Stringer Adapter
A stringer plug is a piece of stringer that is inserted next to a damaged stringer (cut to various lengths depending on the demands and size of the pallet). This stringer plug is then attached to the current stringer in order to assist stabilize it and better sustain the load that will eventually be placed on the pallet.
Staples
Staples are positioned on top of any cracks in the stringer’s side. Staples not only aid to stabilize the stringer, but also help to prevent the break from spreading and jeopardizing the pallet’s integrity.
Finally…
The pallets are sent to a final inspection once they have been fixed. Quality control will inspect the repairs, determining grades, and do anything else that could prevent the pallets from being used as intended at this point.
Once the New Custom Pallets have passed inspection, they are stored by grade in inventory and dispatched to customers as needed. Pallet recycling is our top priority at Garcias Woodworks who is a new and recycled pallet supplier.
